In the summer of 2004, nine young people from Andøy traveled to Heimaey, Iceland. Here they went to a desolately located island to explore the crossings of land and sea, the silence, loneliness and isolation on the island.
Heimaey is a three-hour boat ride from the Icelandic mainland, and is in this respect more isolated than Andøy. People living on Heimaey live in constant danger of volcanic eruptions, due to which they previously have had to evacuate the island.
In 2004 and 2005, Katrine participated in the project "Jadar er hin nyja midjan". This is a collaborating project between young artists from Vesterålen and eastern Iceland. The first part of the project took place in Vesterålen, and the next part was in Eastern Iceland in the summer of 2005.
