Faroe islands

In short

In the summer of 2006, 24 young artists from the Faroe Islands, Norway and Iceland met to explore silence. The third part of the project “Silent Island” took place at Gøtu on the Faroe Islands.

In order to reach the small and uninhabited island Litla Dimun, where we were to explore silence, we had to hire a helicopter. It was a totally wild, dangerous and different experience that made a big impression on the participants. We stayed on the island for three days without mobile phones, computers, watches or other electronic equipment. Here, silence, boredom and loneliness reigned. The results of the exploration was shown as a performance in Gøtu.
